RESPONSIBILITIES

As leaders we must set the right example for the children.  This includes making sure you wear a hat whenever you’re in the sun, abiding by all rules set out at the beginning of Day Camp and getting involved and being positive about the drama, music and all activities.  Leaders need to be at the church at 8:30am each morning to ensure everything is ready to go for the day.  At the end of each day, the leaders get together to eat, relax and discuss the events of the day.  This will finish at approximately 4pm and whilst we are aware that many leaders have paid work to go to it is important that all leaders are able to attend.  If there are any problems with this, please speak to Letisha.  PLEASE NOTE – This year not all leaders will be assigned to a group of children as in previous years.  Please think carefully about the responsibilities you would like to undertake during the Day Camp week and mark these on the registration form.

SUNDAY NIGHT SERVICE – SUNDAY 12 JANUARY

There will be a special Day Camp dedication during the 6pm service on the Sunday night prior to Day Camp.  We strongly encourage all leaders and their families to attend this service.

DAY CAMP T-SHIRTS

All leaders will be provided with a free Day Camp T-Shirt which you are required to wear throughout the week.  T-Shirts will be available for collection on the Sunday Night prior to Day Camp (Sunday 12 January) after the 6pm service.  Trial sizes will be available at Day Camp Registration Day (Sunday 3 November), or by contacting Letisha.  Please note T-Shirt orders close Friday 22 November.

DAILY ACTIVITIES

Every day each group is involved in some form of activity.  This year these activities include Bowling, Swimming, Gymnastics, Playground, Ice Skating, Games, Video, Performer and more.  Some of these activities will require leader participation whilst others require supervision only.  Please make sure you find out the activities you will be doing each day so you can come prepared.

CAMP CONCERT – FRIDAY 17 JANUARY (6:30pm – 7:45pm)

We encourage all the leaders and their families to come along as it’s a great celebration to end the week and the leaders always have a concert item to celebrate the end of another great week.

TRAINING DAY – WEDNESDAY 8 JANUARY (10:00am – 2:30pm approx)

We’ll be finding out all the daily information, our responsibilities and the things that are new to Day Camp 2020. We will spend the day at the church with morning tea & lunch provided. Even if you’ve been in previous years, this day is extremely important for the effective running of the Day Camp week.  If you can’t make it, please let Letisha know ASAP.

If you have any questions about Day Camp contact Letisha Heintze (0432 049 159) or wpucdaycamp@hotmail.com.

I authorise the leader in charge of the group, where it is impractical to communicate with me, or the delegated alternate emergency contact, to arrange for the above mentioned child to receive such medical or surgical treatment as the leader may deem necessary at any time during Day Camp.
